JDE Configurator Business Analyst

The ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas Division implements and maintains Oracle’s J.D. Edwards (JDE) E1 9.2 ERP applications. We are currently rolling out JDE across all business units in North, Central, and South America. To support this, we are expanding our JD Edwards team and looking to hire a JDE Configurator Business Analyst (BA).
This full-time position is based on-site at ASSA ABLOY Americas corporate headquarters in New Haven, CT, and reports to the Director of Enterprise Applications.
What you will be doing
- The JDE Configurator BA will develop and document standard operating procedures for the JDE Configurator module in JDE and lead the implementation of these standards across various JDE project teams.
- Work with business users and product engineers to define the structure and options of different product configurations
- The JDE Configurator BA would ensure that the configurator is set up correctly to prevent errors and ensure that all configurations are accurate and consistent
- Serve as a Functional Lead and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in JDE implementation and support projects, driving key product configuration tasks across multiple concurrent projects.
- Work as an export to define the logic and calculations that determine the components, pricing, routings of a configured product
- Collaborate with other JD Edwards modules like sales, procurement, manufacturing and shipping to ensure a seamless flow of data throughout the configuration process.
- Provide functional support for prototyping, development, and user testing.
- Analyze business requirements and develop specifications as needed. Maintain a strong understanding of the business processes supported by the JDE solution.
- Foster consensus and strong working relationships with Enterprise Applications teams and other business and IT teams, creating a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Develop and maintain appropriate documentation and owner of Configurator setup.
- Effectively communicates and take ownership of project progress and issues/risks to the Leadership Team.
What we are looking for
- Four years of bachelor’s degree or graduate degree in Engineering or Computer Science related field required.
- Must have in depth knowledge of the top down and dynamic product validation rules, cross segment editing rules, assembly inclusion rules, derived calculations, digest, configurator availability rules, etc.
- Must have demonstrated work experience in JDE projects working within a Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid environment.
- Must hold a minimum experience of 8+ years of field experience including 5 years in a lead role participating in multiple projects.
- Proficiency in ERP related functions, relevant experience.
- Experience with multi-national, multi-currency, implementations.
- Deep knowledge of all JD Edwards modules that integrate with Configurator module.
- Be able to gather requirements from various users, write specifications which developers can utilize, evaluate results, and communicate changes to the users.
- Proven functional expertise with production support in JD Edwards ERP-software implementations.
- Excellent influencing and people skills; client-driven and a collaborator.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a demanding environment; ability to stay focused on responsibilities and meet deadlines; must perform in a high exposure, dynamic, and time-sensitive environment and be able to lead change.
- Ability to present ideas in business friendly and user-friendly language; demonstrated aptitude for working with, supporting, and communicating with users.
- Experience working in a collaborative, shared-services environment, across multiple divisions with a variety of operating environments, application software, tools, and technologies.
- Position requires travel, varying from 25-75% within the continental US and Canada, and Central and South America.
- Must be available to work in US, Mexico, and other Latin America countries.
Additional skills desired
- Background and understanding of operational processes in a manufacturing environment.
- Has construction industry and product knowledge.
- A background in warehousing and an understanding of the manufacturing and distribution tool sets and processes that drive efficiency and profitability.
- Good English language skills, Spanish speaking skills highly desired
- Experience with using MS SQL; ability to write SQL queries.
- Exposure to Cloud Inventory/DSI Data Collection, Gentran EDI Software, SAP Business Objects, Docpath forms printing, Imaging systems (TransformAP)
