A glimpse into ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems' graduate program
The ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems Division’s Graduate program is an on-the-job training program running on a permanent contract for 24 months. The program includes two additional placements, often international, and begins in the country of employment. Through participating in the program, newly graduated professionals get to be part of a global organization with many exciting opportunities.
We have asked Amanda Nordlander, who recently joined the program as a Communication Specialist Graduate, some questions summarizing her initial thoughts about the program.
How did you find out about the graduate program?
I found the ad by scanning through LinkedIn and immediately realized that this was what I had been looking for. The chance to see and experience a big organization through multiple perspectives is an excellent opportunity to develop as a professional practitioner quickly.
What made you think ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems was the place for you?
There are immense chances of you developing in accordance with what you are passionate about because of the incredible size of the organization. Getting to work closely with your dedicated team while simultaneously experiencing other parts of the organization as part of the rotations spoke to me specifically.
Has anything surprised you so far?
Yes, lots! It is interesting to see the organization's diversity and how you can work closely with colleagues in other parts of the world. Also, now I can’t help but look extra at the doors I pass through; they are often connected to the ASSA ABLOY brand.
For upcoming graduates, what advice would you give them?
The ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems’ Graduate Program lets you quickly join a big organization. Take advantage of that! Be curious, try to understand different functions thoroughly, and never be afraid to ask questions. Create a personal glossary! There will be many abbreviations to keep track of.
