HR Generalist - Kenya

Purpose of the role:

 

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for providing support in the various HR functions, which include administration, recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring and employee counselling.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Creating, implementing and administering human resources policies and procedures and ensuring that practices are compliant with statutory requirements and guidelines
  • Assist with various aspects of HR Operations including employee documentation, on-boarding, off-boarding and day to day queries
  • Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process
  • Support with employee relations by providing guidelines and clarifications on policies and their application
  • Administration of employee benefits and claims
  • Participating in and/or leading projects focused on continuous improvement
  • Organize and schedule meetings and events
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
  • Create and implement effective plans and support throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Assisting with the development of training and development programs
  • Assist in performance management processes
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Maintain employee records (attendance, EEO data etc.) according to policy and legal requirements
  • Assist with Ad-hoc HR activities as and when required

 

Professional Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Degree in human resources or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in human resources
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Experience on SAP SuccessFactors – advantageous
  • Understanding of labour laws and disciplinary procedures
  • Working in a unionised environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
