Regular checks and inspections can pick up and rectify many signs of wear and tear before they cause actual problems. Even the most innovative technology is not immune to material fatigue and wear in its small parts and while these components may be small, they still play a decisive role in the smooth functioning of the high-speed doors.
Particular attention should be given to the numerous mechanical and electrical parts in this type of door, ensuring they are regularly and meticulously checked to maintain optimal condition. Materials such as rubber on various seals or the vibration damper as well as the flexible PVC or RollTex door curtains are exposed to great stress on a daily basis, which leads to increased wear and tear.
The pulse generator – whether mechanical or electrical – is responsible for the trouble-free opening and closing of the door and restricts the door function in the event of wear. Electrical pulse generators on the high-speed door should be replaced after 2,500,000 cycles, but no later than 10 or 5 years (for laser scanners).
