Barnsley Fire Station opens its doors
Working in-conjunction with contractor J F Finnegan and Bond Bryan Architects as principle architect, ASSA ABLOY's industrial doors will play a vital role at South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue newest station.
ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems UK supplied and installed six OH1042F sectional overhead doors as appliance bay doors. Each sectional door was supplied with six rows of framed glazing, maximising essential visibility through closed doors, prior to vehicles exiting the facility.
Each of the three bays has an appliance bay exit and entrance door. Working closely with the end user, ASSA ABLOY supplied the appliance bay exit doors with both low and high level photocells. This technology ensures that the doors only close once the fire engine has fully exited from the building.
Barnsley Fire Station opened its doors in September, providing all its firefighters with a modern, energy efficient and comfortable workplace.
