Manufacturing Engineer

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop, document, and enhance manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Create and implement quality plans, ensuring products meet high standards.
  • Use root cause analysis to drive corrective actions and improvements.
  • Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce lead times and create a visual factory environment.
  • Plan, commission, and maintain machine and assembly production lines.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives through training, collaboration, and process optimization.
  • Manage the selection, purchase, and installation of manufacturing equipment.
  • Work closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers to resolve issues and provide technical support.
  • Collaborate with Product Design Engineers to develop and introduce new products.
  • Design and maintain efficient cellular manufacturing layouts.
  • Lead and direct meetings with team members and production staff.

 

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Develop and modify CNC programs while training operators as needed.
  • Troubleshoot robotic systems on designated equipment.
  • Coordinate regulatory certifications, including UL, Windstorm, and BHMA.
  • Provide technical support to customers, service reps, and sales teams.
  • Work with customers to create custom hinge designs and establish manufacturing processes.
  • Oversee capital equipment selection, justification, and implementation.
  • Maintain and update item master data (BOMs, etc.) as required.
  • Conduct first-piece inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5-7 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer.
  • BS in Engineering or Manufacturing (or equivalent experience).
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing (Kanban, Poke-Yoke, JIT, Value Stream Mapping).
  • Strong background in metal machining processes and tool design.
  • Practical experience with SPC implementation and application.
  • Extensive CNC programming experience
  • A forward-thinking mindset that values innovation and long-term company growth.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong technical documentation skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal).
