As part of the safety edge, the proper functioning of spiral cables and pneumatic switches are crucial for the trouble-free operation of your industrial doors.
In order to fulfil necessary requirements in terms of safety and efficiency, the pneumatic switch should be replaced every 3 years, or at the latest after 20,000 cycles, with the spiral cable replaced after 30,000 cycles. Possible corrosion on the contacts of the pneumatic switch can be prevented at an early stage before it can lead to a system failure or an accident during door operation.
Excessive abrasion, twisting or stretching as well as age-related hardening are the most common causes of wear on the spiral cable, and are clear signs that replacement should be carried out urgently.
