Roller shutters the sustainable solution for leading waste management company

The existing roller shutters were underperforming and Viridor required a solution that could cope with high duty operation, as well as contribute to the overall carbon footprint of the building.

ASSA ABLOY dismantled the existing shutters of the Heavy Store, Mechanical and Electrical Workshops, Boiler House, Ash Bunker and Turbine Hall with the installation of 7no Enhanced Insulated Roller Shutters. The enhanced shutters were all supplied with upgraded Safedrive motors to cope with the required number of operations. Another key feature of the Enhanced Insulated Roller Shutter is that it boasts a u-value of 3.3 W/m2K through the full assembled curtain.

In the Dry Recycling Building, ASSA ABLOY installed 3no Direct Drive Roller Shutters in conjunction with steel protection goal post frames to protect the shutters from vehicle impact damage.

As result of this excellent installation, the company has secured a place on Viridor’s national supply chain framework.
